CONNECTING/CABLING IP PHONES TO OUR NETWORK
IP phones have a unique network address (MAC address) assigned by the manufacturer which is not duplicated on any other network equipment in the world!
An IP phone's extension is assigned to the MAC address, not the Ethernet network port or cable.
The network cable connected to our WS/FCS network (wall jack) in turn connects to the IP phone's network jack .
Your phone receives both power and network connectivity from this cable. An IP phone has the ability to share its network connection with your computer or printer .
